Sometimes I feel extremely selfish. Ricardo and I have jobs that some people would kill to have making good money while 10% of Americans don't even have a job and here we are, planning to quit in a year to go be bums in Italy for a while. I also realize that if we didn't have these jobs, Ricardo and I might not be able to afford to take this adventure. We are also living in New York City, one of the best cities in the world. We are both getting antsy to go but I want to make sure we appreciate and enjoy our last year in the wonderful city where we fell in love.
Ricardo and I met Ricardo's cousin last night for dinner. He was telling us about a valuable lesson he learned from his mentor. He said "what you are doing when you are procrastinating is probably what you should actually be doing in life". It's true...how much more productive, innovative, and successful would Americans be if they followed their passions and didn't just do something that was easy or expected of them? My mom is finally going back to school to get her interior design degree after years in a cubicle job and years of us telling her to do it. I think there has to be a balance here, but think about it.
Arrivederci!
