Learning the language

Buon Giorno!

As a matter of introduction, I am the aforementioned Ricardo, Lucia's husband. We're both so excited to be taking this journey together!

Lucia and I have started to study Italian so that we'll be ready for our big move. We bought the Rosetta Stone language software, levels 1 through 5. We've each gone through a few lessons, and it seems like we will be able to learn the language pretty well using the software. I don't want this to sound like an infomercial for Rosetta Stone, so I'll leave it at that.

We were fortunate enough to already have some big help with our planning. My second cousin lives in London, and used to live with his family in Milan. I was put in touch with him by my grandfather, who suggested that would be the best way to get in touch with my relatives that live in Italy. My second cousin sent an email to the "padrino" (his words) over in Italy to ask if he would help us with the visa process, or help us find somewhere to live. He lives in Frigento, a small town in Avellino, outside of Naples. Napoli, I guess. Might as well get used to the Italian way of saying the cities! Hopefully we'll hear back soon. That would be a huge help for us. We're so fortunate to have such loving families that want to help us out!

Until next time,
Ricardo
