We found a website where someone can post opportunities for free room and board at his or her home in exchange for help 5 hours a day, 5 days a week. Most of the work is cooking, babysitting, gardening, building etc. People have posted opportunities all over the world but it seems like it is most popular in Europe. The families and the organization will not help you with getting visas. I'm not sure if this qualifies for a work visa since there is no compensation. We're not sure we want to work 5 days a week... this will interfere with our exploration and travels. However, it would be nice to meet a local family who we can ask questions/advice. It is still a little too early to contact them but this is a possibility.
