Ricardo and I did something we've never done last night. We have always been responsible, practical, frugal people. However, there's one problem with writing down your bucket list. You feel obligated to accomplish all those goals...immediately!
I have wanted to see Garth Brooks in concert since I was about 10. He has been retired for the past nine years. He just came out of retirement to play in Las Vegas about one weekend a month for the next few months. I found a wonderful, amazing woman who was willing to sell tickets to us for next weekend for face value. Everything else I was finding was at least quadruple the original ticket price. The only problem is flights to Vegas 10 days out aren't cheap. Ricardo and I kicked around the idea of spending the money for such a quick weekend trip, taking a day off work with little notice, losing sleep and flying all the way across the country for a concert. Ricardo decided for us that we were just going to do it. We (probably) only live once and want to see/do/taste/experience everything we can while we can. I think what won us over was that the woman emailed us and said she wanted to give us the first shot at the tickets since we contacted her first. She was so fair and sweet about it. We booked flights and hotels last night!!
After going back and forth via email with this woman we realized that she lives right outside of Ricardo's hometown and is great friends with someone who went to grade school with Ricardo. Her last name is also one letter away from my maiden name. It really is a small world!
This could be a taste of the more adventurous side of us that is sure to come out next year.
Arrivederci!
