We got a catalog in the mail the other day that we usually throw out, but before we did, I noticed a contest advertised on the back page. "Make a video, go to Italy" it proclaimed. Immediately, we got excited. The winner of the contest gets free airfare to Italy and a short stay at a hotel in Castelvetro, Italy, plus a private tour of the acetaia balsamico (balsamic vinegar factory) at La Vecchia Dispensa.
Lucia has become somewhat of an amateur filmmaker lately, spurred on by the Flip video camera that her thoughtful husband bought for her for Christmas. For this contest, we're supposed to make a 3 minute video about balsamic vinegar. Seriously. What are we supposed to do with vinegar? Normally we can come up with at least something remotely funny, but we're both stumped. Hence this post. We're looking at YOU, treasured reader of this blog, to provide us with an idea. If we use your idea, you're getting some vinegar straight from the factory, along with an item of your choice from Italy. Deal? Deal.

Why don't you make a video of all sorts of recipes you can make with balsamic vinegar. Dan and I have a great recipe for Balsamic chicken. You could make a salad with Balsamic. And make a cool video of cooking--what you do best!
