Ricardo and I love wine. In fact, we just booked a 10 day trip to the Pacific Northwest in the Fall where we can explore the wines up in Washington and Oregon. We have already taken a trip down the coast of California tasting the wines as we went (I highly recommend this trip for any travel-lovers reading).
We found an amazing wine tasting program several months ago run by a Sommeliere who has worked at the top restaurants in the city and was the Tastings Director for Wine and Spirits Magazine. She would have us taste different wines and talk about them before she gave us any information. This really is the best way to learn. She was adamant that you should only attend her classes if you are passionate about wine. She would say "If you drink wine to get drunk, pick another alcohol".
Unfortunately, she recently moved to Texas, so we haven't been able to learn anything for a little while. Fortunately, she just organized a tasting with a Master Sommelier who works at an Italian resturant in Brooklyn. He is going to introduce us to several wines from Italy and the restaurant's chef will pair each wine with some delicious food. We are hoping we can not only learn more about Italian wines, but also make another connection to Italy. We will let you know how it goes.
Arrivederci!
